VIDEO: The FDNY welcomed its latest class of fire protection inspectors to its ranks at a graduation ceremony on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, at Department Headquarters in Brooklyn.
“Today is a great day. You have worked tirelessly to earn your place in the Bureau of Fire Prevention, and you should be very proud,” FDNY Commissioner Robert S. Tucker said.
“The mission of the FDNY is not possible without you, because fire prevention is where safety begins. It’s the work that happens before the tones go off, before the first engines roll out, and before lives are at risk. In New York City, the landscape is constantly changing. New buildings rise, new technologies emerge and, with them, new threats. As fire protection inspectors, you’re on the front lines of identifying and addressing those risks—protecting New Yorkers and first responders. Your inspections ensure that our city remains safe for millions of people who live, work and visit here every day.”
