Restaurant founder Avtar Walia opened Tamarind in 2001 with a vision of presenting Indian cuisine in an elegant fine-dining setting, showcasing its depth, sophistication and regional variety.
Now, Tamarind is marking its 25th anniversary with a special dinner menu. Walia joined NY1’s Stephanie Simon to reflect on the restaurant’s history and future.
