The man who was stabbed to death inside a Brooklyn park on Saturday afternoon has been identified by authorities.
According to police sources, 21-year-old Manuel Estanislao Chox Choc was one of two people stabbed when a knife fight broke out in Dyker Beach Park on June 27. Cops say it unfolded at approximately 1:54 p.m. inside the green space near 86 Street and 14 Avenue when they received 911 calls reporting that two men had been attacked with a knife.
As officers from the 68th Precinct arrived on the scene, they discovered Chox Choc with stab wounds throughout his body, along with a 30-year-old man who also suffered injuries. Both victims were rushed by EMS to Maimonides Medical Center. While the 30-year-old remains in critical condition, Chox Choc could not be saved and was pronounced dead.
Sources familiar with the incident report that the brawl stemmed from a gang fight. A person of interest was taken into custody at the scene. Charges are pending the result of the investigation.
