1. City Hall staffer released from ICE detention after 158 days

City Council staffer Rafael Rubio has returned to work at City Hall for the first time since spending 158 days in ICE custody.

Rubio, who was granted asylum and released on Juneteenth, thanked City Council Speaker Julie Menin and his legal team for helping secure his freedom. The Department of Homeland Security is appealing his asylum ruling.

2. NYC Pride March celebrated along Fifth Avenue

Thousands of people filled Fifth Avenue for the annual NYC Pride March, celebrating this year’s theme, “For All of Us.”

The march honored LGBTQIA+ trailblazers, including trans advocates and community leaders, while remembering victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting.

3. Boone: No timetable on re-imaging Judge’s rib injury

The Yankees still don’t know when Aaron Judge will return to the lineup.

Manager Aaron Boone said the star slugger is increasing his workouts but is still waiting for follow-up imaging. Judge was placed on the injured list June 5.
