WATERBURY, Conn. (WFSB) – A man was arrested after allegedly firing a gun into the air during a disturbance on Sunday afternoon in Waterbury, according to police.
The man was identified as William Pichardo, 51, of the Bronx, NY.
The incident happened around 1:53 p.m. near Chase Avenue and Cooke Street.
Police found several spent shell casings in the area. They said nobody was hurt and there was no property damage in the area.
Pichardo was taken into custody and charged with second degree breach of peace, unlawful discharge of a firearm, first degree reckless endangerment, illegal sale and transfer of a firearm, and carrying of pistol/revolver without a permit.
He was given a $500k bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
Police have not clarified what disturbance led to this incident.
