Gunfire was reportedly exchanged between Yonkers police officers and the driver of a vehicle on the Mosholu Parkway near the Major Deegan Expressway, according to the FDNY.
The incident was reported on the border of Yonkers and the Bronx by Van Cortlandt Park. FDNY said it received a call at 10:44 a.m. about a vehicle collision involving Yonkers police and shots fired.
Video from the Citizen app shows a black BMW 8 Series with New Jersey temporary license plates reading “H054501.” Officials said no NYPD officers were involved.
FDNY said no EMS crews or firefighters were needed at the scene, and the incident was being handled by Yonkers police. The FDNY call was closed at 11:06 a.m., but a large police presence remained in the area afterward.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
