Former Alabama basketball standout Keon Ellis is reportedly staying in the NBA after agreeing to a new contract with the Brooklyn Nets.
According to ESPN, Ellis has agreed to a two year, $18 million guaranteed deal with the Brooklyn Nets.
Ellis spent his four seasons at Alabama from 2019 to 2023 developing into one of the Crimson Tide’s top defenders. During his senior season, he averaged 12.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game while helping Alabama reach the NCAA Tournament.
After going undrafted in 2023, Ellis earned his way into the NBA spending time with the Sacramento Kings before reaching free agency. His reported agreement with the Nets mark the next chapter in his professional career.
Ellis becomes the latest former Alabama player to land a new NBA contract during free agency and continues to make his mark at the professional level.
