NEW YORK (PIX11) — New York City will again spray to combat West Nile Virus, the New York City Department of Health announced on Tuesday.

The Department of Health will spray non-residential marshes and wetlands in the Bronx. Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island between Tuesday and Thursday.

The treatment aims to reduce mosquito activity and lower the risk of West Nile Virus.

The city first conducted the operation for the season in June.

Mosquito spraying operations will be conducted between July 7 and 9, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.

This year, human cases of West Nile virus have not been reported in New York City, according to the NYC Health Department.

Officials say the spray being used, VectoBac GS, has minimal impact on people, pets, fish, birds, and other wildlife when applied according to label directions.

BronxQueens

Abandoned Flushing Airport

BrooklynStaten Island

Saw Mill Creek Marsh North
