I thought I knew what an elite feast looked like, but my mind is completely blown. I recently made a stop at Spice Symphony in Midtown East, and they are putting out some of the most electric, heavy-hitting Indian and Indo-Chinese food in the entire city. The pure intensity of the spices and the gorgeous presentation here is absolutely unreal.

It all starts with a true customer favorite, their butter chicken. I watched them simmer a massive pan of juicy tandoori chicken in a thick, rich, creamy orange butter sauce. They ladle it out into a beautiful serving dish and finish it off with a perfect swirl of fresh cream. Look at that shine. When you spoon that silky sauce and tender chicken over a fluffy bed of white rice, it is pure heaven. The chicken is incredibly juicy, and the sauce is packed with a deep, comforting richness that hits you instantly.

This Cheese-Stuffed Naan is Elite

But they told me we had to pair it with their cheese-stuffed naan, and we are never going to say no to that. The chef starts with a fresh round of dough and piles on an insane mountain of shredded cheddar cheese and fresh herbs. He wraps it up tight like a giant dumpling, covers it in flour, and slams it down onto the counter. After a quick roll, it goes straight into the roaring hot clay tandoor oven. It bakes until it puffs up beautifully with a gorgeous char.

The moment it comes out, they brush it with melted butter and slice it open. Look at that pull. The cheese is completely melted, gooey, and stretching to high heaven. Dipping that warm, savory, cheese-packed bread directly into the rich butter chicken sauce is a total game-changer. An incredible start.

The Most Intense Tandoori Flavor in NYC

Next up was their tandoori chicken legs. They take massive chicken drumsticks that have been thoroughly coated in a vibrant, bright red yogurt marinade and bake them to absolute perfection inside the tandoor. They get brushed with butter, hit with a special blend of spices, and served with a side of bright green mint chutney. We poured that chutney right over the top. It is unbelievably tender, and the smoky char from the oven combined with the herbaceous kick of the mint is a total flavor explosion.

You also cannot skip their tandoori lamb chops. They get the same high-octane tandoor treatment, a heavy brush of butter, and a shower of fresh cilantro. They are incredibly succulent and melt-in-your-mouth tender.

A Spectacular Table-Side Showpiece

For something truly unique, they are frying up tangy, marinated chicken lollipops that get dunked in a rich house-made chili mayo. Rebecca absolutely loved these. If you want an even bigger punch, you can get them Indo-Chinese style, where the chicken lollipops get tossed in a screaming hot wok with fresh peppers, onions, and a sticky sweet and spicy sauce.

To finish the feast, we got their famous chicken tikka biryani. This isn’t your average rice dish. They pan-fry the chicken tikka with fragrant basmati rice and spices, pack it into a clay pot, and seal the top with a fresh sheet of raw naan dough. They hit it with a blowtorch right at the station to cook the bread, brush it with butter, and dust it with paprika. They cut it open right at your table, releasing a massive cloud of aromatic steam, and serve it with a cool yogurt sauce. Every single dish here hits the spot. If you want food that is loud, bold, and bursting with flavor, get to Spice Symphony immediately.
