The Red Arrows, more formally known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, flew over iconic New York City landmarks on July 4 to help celebrate the United States’ 250th birthday.
The United Kingdom was invited as part of the International Naval Review 250, one of the many USA 250 events.
US Navy and Coast Guard craft, as well as “ships, aircraft, and personnel from over 130 invited navies and coast guards,” were invited to participate, the US Navy said.
“This historic gathering will also feature more than 30 tall ships from around the globe alongside key maritime partners, including merchant marine, USCG, Army Corps of Engineers and NOAA amongst others,” the US Navy added. Credit: @rafredarrows via Storyful
