Reporters and photographers gathered at one of the arena’s two vehicle entrances. They took pictures in the heat – which at one point reached 37C – zooming in on box labels and memos, using long lenses to snap blurry shots of orange flowers behind curtains.
Pounds of lobster were pictured being wheeled into the stadium in large black boxes, along with chicken, French fries, thick-cut onion rings and peppers.
A castle was rumoured to have been built inside the stadium, with fabric covering the floors and ceiling, according to Page Six. This was apparently confirmed when two white banners, which looked like parts of a large building, fell out of black bin bags.
Artificial trees were unpacked, drinks lorries arrived, and a mysterious bag marked “golf” was seen. Still, nobody was any the wiser as to the intimate details of the wedding of the century.
Pictures showed a stripy, tent-like piece of stage scenery being loaded onto a truck on Friday. It was a prop which would not have looked amiss in one of Swift’s videos for her most recent album, Life of a Showgirl.
