Brooklyn Bridge Burns as Fire Breaks Out During Fourth of July Fireworks Display

A fire broke out on the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City during Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks display.

According to reports, the fire broke out at 9:30 pm on the Manhattan-bound side of the bridge.

Footage captured by Stacy Lyn Burnet onboard a vessel on the East River shows smoke billow from the fire.

Livestream footage shows the fire burning on the iconic monument before authorities extinguished the blaze.

The fireworks display was scheduled to begin at 9:02 pm, officials said. The show typically runs for about a 30 minutes, and this year included more than 85,000 fireworks in 30 different colors, according to reports. Credit: Stacy Lyn Burnet via Storyful
