NYPD detective shot in bulletproof vest, wounded in Brooklyn clash

An NYPD detective was shot in the bulletproof vest and wounded during a confrontation in Brooklyn early Sunday, police sources said.

The detective was shot near Nostrand Ave. and St. John’s Place in Crown Heights about 4:10 a.m., NYPD officials said.

Police have taken one person into custody and recovered a firearm from the scene, sources said.
