A boy is dead after a shooting at Hartkopf Park in Brooklyn Park late Sunday night, according to the Brooklyn Park Police Department. No arrests have been announced as of Monday morning.
At approximately 10:46 p.m., police responded to a shooting at the park, located at 7300 Florida Ave. N. Arriving officers found a juvenile male had been shot and started rendering aid, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The identity and exact age of the victim has not yet been released.
Brooklyn Park investigators are actively working the case with assistance from Hennepin County Crime Scene Investigations.
