MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – Riley County Police officials are reporting the attempted theft of two Kia cars on Sunday in Manhattan.
The first attempted theft was reported around 8:11 a.m. Sunday in the 4400 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard.
Officers filed a report of criminal damage to property and attempted theft of property or services in that case.

A 22-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported that an unknown person forcibly entered her 2023 Kia Sportage while attempting to steal it.
The total estimated loss associated with this case has not yet been determined.
In the second case, officers filed a report of burglary, criminal damage to property and attempted theft of property or services around 3:07 p.m. Sunday, also in the 4400 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd.
A 28-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were listed as the victims when it was reported an unknown person damaged the steering column of a 2015 Kia Sportage while attempting to steal the vehicle.
The total estimated loss associated with this case was more than $1,000.
There were no reports of arrests, and additional details weren’t immediately available on Monday morning.
