“I wanted to start collecting vintage pieces, buying thoughtfully through auctions and galleries and from artists and designers I love,” says Bell. Moser focuses on pieces that could move with Bell in the future.
One of his first buys? An aluminum and alpaca stool by Brett Robinson for the closet. “As a late-20s girl living in New York City, the closet having its moment was important to me,” says Bell. Carrie Bradshaw would no doubt appreciate the vintage vanity with a rose-tinted mirrored top and the Baroque silk-upholstered chair for getting ready.
Warm hues in the cozy kitchen let the bold countertop stand out. Unlacquered brass fixtures will patina over time. Glass-front cabinetry showcases Bell’s pottery and glassware.
The playful spirit continues in the primary bedroom, where a walnut hued rug mixes with a baby blue suede bed and linens with tangerine piping. “I wanted to have fun and be a little risky with the fabrics we chose,” says Bell. In the living room, Moser sourced a Jean Lurcat tapestry from Paris and repurposed the textile into sofa pillows.
“We did rounds and rounds of accessories,” says Moser. “Every piece is collected, and each one has a story. It was a slow burn. The wait is the fun part.”
