State Police arrest Brooklyn man for possessing 1.5 kilos of narcotics during a Malta traffic stop

On July 5, 2026, State Police of Clifton Park arrested Lionel J. Manigault, 41, of Brooklyn, NY, for: 

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st, a class “A” felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, a class “B” felonyVehicle and traffic law violations

On July 5, 2026, at about 9:29 p.m., troopers stopped a vehicle being driven by Manigault northbound on Interstate 87 in Malta, NY, for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The investigation discovered and seized more than 3 pounds of a controlled substance that later field-tested positive for containing cocaine, along with a large amount of U.S. currency. 

Manigault was arrested at the scene and transported to SP Clifton Park for processing. He was then arraigned at the Malta Town Court, where he was remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail.
