A man is in police custody after authorities say he threw Molotov cocktails at three buildings in Queens, including two houses of worship.
According to authorities, Molotov cocktails were thrown at Iglesia Bautista El Mesías, Inc. Church just before midnight Wednesday, and at Interborough Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses just after midnight. A Molotov cocktail was also thrown at a third building located at 76-19 Rockaway Boulevard, according to police.

Iglesia Bautista El Mesías, Inc. Church issued a statement Thursday morning confirming no one was injured.
“We are thankful for the quick response and support from the first responders, including the NYPD and FDNY,” the statement from the church reads, in part. “Our church remains committed to serving our community, keeping our congregation safe, and continuing to share the message of Jesus Christ with faith, peace, and love.”
Police say a 36-year-old man was arrested in connection to the incidents. Charges are pending.
