I thought I had seen it all when it comes to seafood in New York City. I was wrong. I recently witnessed something so spectacular it completely changed my standards for comfort food. If you love cheese and you love seafood, you are not ready for this.

The spot is Boca in the Bronx. They are pushing boundaries. This could seriously be my favorite lobster dish in the entire city. The star of the show? Their mind-blowing Lobster Thermidor.

The process is insane. First, they break open a massive lobster tail right on the cutting board. They dice up that fresh meat into thick chunks. Then, it goes straight into a hot pan. They sauté it with chopped onions, earthy mushrooms, and a ton of garlic.

The aroma? Unreal. They season it perfectly with salt and pepper before hitting it with a heavy pour of cream. It bubbles up into a rich, velvety masterpiece right before your eyes.

But they do not stop there. Not even close.

While the sauce thickens, that giant lobster shell goes straight into the deep fryer. It gets perfectly crispy. They place it on a platter right next to a molded ring of thick, buttery mashed potatoes. Then, they load that fried shell back up with all of that decadent, creamy lobster meat.

The next step is pure magic. They pack on a legendary amount of shredded parmesan and mozzarella cheese. They stack it high. They press it down. Then, it goes under the broiler until it turns into a bubbly, golden brown blanket.

Look at that pull! I watched as a fork lifted a massive bite, and the cheese just stretched straight to the ceiling. It is an elite level cheese pull.

They plate the whole thing over perfectly grilled zucchini and carrots. They pour even more of that rich, creamy lobster sauce right over the top. Drenched. Finally, they hit it with a sweet drizzle of teriyaki sauce, fresh herbs, and beautiful crispy garnishes.

The result? Incredible. This is a game-changer of a dish that needs to be on your bucket list immediately.
