TOWN OF UNION (WBNG) – New York State Police say an 11-year-old boy has died after an incident in the Binghamton Country Club pool.
Upon the Troopers’ arrival, bystanders and lifeguards had already initiated lifesaving measures for an unresponsive 11-year-old boy.
Responding Troopers assisted in those efforts until the child was transported by ambulance to Wilson Medical Center and subsequently flown to Upstate University Hospital.
Despite the efforts of everyone involved in the emergency response, the child passed away on July 9, 2026.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office following further examination.
No foul play is suspected at this time.
