One of New York City’s most iconic metal venues is making its long-awaited return. Saint Vitus has announced it will reopen this fall at it’s new location, 428 Troutman Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn, taking over the former Brooklyn Made space. The news comes more than two years after the beloved venue was forced to close its original Greenpoint location.
Since opening in 2011, Saint Vitus became a cornerstone of New York’s heavy music scene. The intimate venue earned a reputation for hosting everything from rising underground bands to surprise performances by acts including Megadeth, Anthrax, and Gojira, making it a must-visit destination.
The venue abruptly closed in February 2024 after the New York City Department of Buildings determined it lacked the permits required to operate as a live music venue. Although the original location was permanently shuttered, the Saint Vitus team continued promoting concerts throughout the city under the Vitus Presents banner while searching for a new home.
The announcement was made through the venue’s social media channels on Friday, July 3rd, with a video featuring its mascot, Günther, before revealing the new Bushwick address.
Saint Vitus is expected to reopen in fall 2026.
