This week marked the start of the annual Our Lady of Mount Carmel Feast.
The main attraction is the Giglio, a four-ton, six-story statue decorated with images of saints and flowers. Dozens of men carry the Giglio on their shoulders, dancing in the streets outside Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Domenic Varuzza, organizer of the feast, joins “Weekends on 1” to discuss the festivities.
