BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — An NYPD inspector is accused of sexually assaulting a fellow officer inside a Bronx police station last year, District Attorney Darcel Clark announced Friday.

Inspector Jeremy Scheublin, 46, allegedly assaulted a female subordinate in his office at the 46th Precinct in Tremont on Jan. 1, 2025, according to investigators. Scheublin was the commanding officer at the precinct at the time.

Scheublin allegedly grabbed her, threw her onto a couch, groped her, attempted to remove her gun belt, and told her he wanted to “make biracial babies” with her, according to the victim’s lawyer, John A. Scola.

Scola said the woman fought him off and escaped. The complaint alleges the assault followed more than a year of relentless sexual harassment by Scheublin within a paramilitary command she could not leave.

“The last person who made accusations against me, it didn’t go well for them,” Scheublin allegedly told the victim the following day.

It was used as a threat for the victim not to tell superior officers of the incident, according to court documents.

“Members of the New York City Police Department are entrusted with tremendous authority and are held to the highest standards of integrity and conduct,” said Clark. “The allegations against this defendant are deeply disturbing. He is accused of attempting to rape a female subordinate in his office and then threatening retaliation if she reported the assault.”

NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau investigated the allegation and handed the complaint to the Bronx District Attorney’s office in January 2025.

Scheblin was indicted on charges of attempted rape, sexual abuse, assault, unlawful imprisonment, forcible touching, official misconduct, and obstructing governmental administration, according to court documents

The defendant was released on bail and is due back in court on Oct. 30. He has been suspended without pay by the NYPD.

“We hold our police officers to the highest standards and have zero tolerance for misconduct of any kind. The NYPD conducts thorough investigations into any allegation that a member of the department failed to meet those standards — and that’s exactly what happened here. The NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau investigated these deeply troubling claims and referred this case to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office for prosecution,” the NYPD said in a statement.
