Police in the Bronx are on a manhunt for a gunman after a woman was shot to death while sitting inside her car on Monday night.
According to police sources, officers from the 47th Precinct rushed to 4385 Murdock Ave. in Wakefield at 11:36 p.m. on July 13 after ShotSpotter picked up several gunshots. ShotSpotter is the NYPD’s citywide network of sound sensors designed to detect possible gunfire and evoke a rapid police response.
Upon arriving at the location, they discovered the victim — 39-year-old Julia Anderson of Mount Vernon — slumped over next to her car. She had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to her chest, abdomen, and arm.
EMS rushed Anderson to Jacobi Hospital, where she could not be saved and was pronounced dead.

Sources also report that Anderson worked at a nearby group home not far from where she was gunned down.
