Charli XCX took the stage at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on July 10. The British pop star shocked the crowd, unveiling five tracks from her upcoming album, Music, Fashion, Film, to 650 fans packed into the Brooklyn venue. She invited Clairo, Kim Petras, and Underscores as guest performers.
Underscores performed a version of the electronic artist’s track, “Rock Music,” with her. Kim Petras appeared next, delivering her Detour single, “Jeep.” Clairo wrapped up the guest spots with a duet of her 2019 song, “Sofia.”
A second pop-up show happened on July 14 at Scala in London. Both shows sold out within minutes. Music, Fashion, Film will debut on July 24.
The Music Hall of Williamsburg announced late last year that it will close its doors by the end of 2026. American Football played a surprise show there earlier this week.
The British singer will headline Lollapalooza next month, then start her Music, Fashion, Film tour. Underscores will open for those dates. She’ll headline Outside Lands before returning to the UK for Reading and Leeds. Charli will return to Brooklyn in September to play a much less intimate show at the Barclays Center. Paste Magazine wrote, “Charli will return to Brooklyn in September to play a much less intimate show at the Barclays Center.” She’s announced listening parties around the world ahead of the album’s release.
