Tacoma police have arrested a man in connection with a homicide near I-5 and the Emerald Queen Casino.
On July 15, 2024, officers responded to the 2000 block of E. 28th Street for a report of a shooting and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
“Tacoma Police officers and Tacoma Fire Department personnel immediately began lifesaving measures; however, the victim died from his injuries,” the Tacoma Police Department (TPD) said in a news release Tuesday. “The suspect in this case remained at the scene and cooperated with detectives during the investigation.”
Washington State Patrol troopers and Puyallup Tribal Police assisted with the initial investigation.
TPD said detectives asked the suspect to turn himself in — and he did, surrendering on Monday.
He was booked into jail for investigation of second-degree murder.
