Queens Of The Stone Age have released their first single in three years, Easy Street.
Opening with soft acoustic guitar strums and echoing handclaps, the mellow track blends the American band’s hazy, psych-rock sound with subtle country influences while Josh Homme duets with country singer Nikki Lane, whose 2022 album ‘Denim & Diamonds’ was produced by the frontman. Homme explained:
“It’s kind of a funny song. It’s like hitting your funny bone, where it’s funny because it hurts and it hurts because it’s funny. You’re serious, but it’s funny. We made it the way you’d make a demo. No click track, mistakes left in. It speeds up, it slows down, the claps aren’t great, but they’re not bad, and a bad clap adds this human thing you can’t fake.
“It’s not just about silliness. It’s about understanding the imperfection of your life. The song, like your life, is in the mistakes. Its imperfections are unbeatable.”
The song marks the band’s first new music since the release of 2023’s ‘In Times New Roman…’, though it was first premiered live last year during their Catacombs Tour, supporting their 2025 ‘Alive In The Catacombs’ concert film and EP. Head below to view the video, which was directed by The Armed’s Tony Wolski and Christopher Gruse and shows Homme being chased down “Easy Street” by a cowboy, a Juggalo, a Santa Claus and more.
