LOUISVILLE, Ky. (KLTV) – The Bullard Lady Panthers won their first softball state championship in May, and the accolades continue to roll in for some of the players.
On Tuesday, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) revealed its three high school All-America teams. 39 student-athletes from 26 different schools were selected, including two Bullard Lady Panthers.
Brannen and Swanson were named to the second team as pitcher and designated player, respectively.
Brannen, the state championship game MVP, is headed to Ouachita Baptist to continue her softball career. As a senior, Brannen went 27-5 in the circle with a .333 batting average. In the state championship game, Brannen pitched seven innings, allowing two hits, striking out nine and walking one. Swanson, a sophomore, hit .473 for the season. In the state championship game, Swanson went 1-for-2 with a walk and a run.
