The 2025 peak fall foliage season, one of the brightest and best times of the year in Upstate New York, is officially over.

I LOVE NY, the state’s tourism bureau, released its ninth and final foliage report of the year on Wednesday — reporting that peak foliage has arrived in its final Empire State destination: New York City.

Prime fall colors have faded from the rest of the state, including Upstate New York.

As the fall colors fade, we’re turning our traveling sights on winter.

With meteorologists forecasting a “healthy snow season,” we are eagerly waiting for snow to fall and transform Upstate into a winter wonderland.

While trees bearing brown leaves or barren limbs are dominating most of Upstate, small hints of brilliance remain.

Here are four places where dedicated leaf peepers can catch a final glimpse of pretty, albeit past peak, autumn colors this weekend in Upstate New York:
