The New York State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET) announces the arrest of a Poughkeepsie man following a months-long narcotics investigation.
On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, investigators concluded an extensive investigation that identified Jeffrey Desir, 42, of Poughkeepsie, New York, selling narcotics in the Town of Poughkeepsie.
Investigators executed a search warrant that resulted in the seizure of the following:
Savage Arms 12-gauge shotgunMossberg 12-gauge shotgunSmith & Wesson 9mm pistolApproximately 15.6 grams of crack cocaineApproximately 11.1 grams of fentanylApproximately 6.4 grams of cocaineApproximately 4.6 grams of MDMANumerous rounds of ammunitionDigital Scale with drug residue
Desir was arrested and charged with:
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Intent to Sell), a Class B felonyCriminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Narcotic Drug ), a Class B felonyCriminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Previous Conviction), a Class D felonyTwo counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, Class A misdemeanors
Desir was arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court and released under the supervision of the Dutchess County Probation Department. He is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court on July 27, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
