(WRGB) — Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara wants to create a new program to help people who are disabled or vulnerable.
The New York State Take Me Home Program would create a voluntary registry authorized first responders could access before or during a crisis.

The registry would include photos, emergency contacts, behavioral information and more.
This comes after the recent loss of Harbe Nagi last month. The 7-year-old boy was found dead in a Menands swimming pool. He was non-verbal and had autism.

Santabarbara has a personal connection to this issue. His son, Michael, is on the autism spectrum.
