It was a wild weather day in New York on Saturday.
Heavy wind and rain knocked out power to thousands across the state.
Many New Yorkers received severe thunderstorm, flash flood or tornado warning alerts on their phone.
In Western New York, multiple severe thunderstorms caused flash flooding across the region. A tornado warning was also issued on the eastern edge of the region. At some point, more than 800 people were without power in Erie County.
Rochester saw a new record rainfall of just over three inches. That breaks the old record of 1.75 inches, set in 1908.That rainfall sparked flooding across the area, including along I-590 and Calkins Road in Rochester. Those storms leaving behind major flooding and also spawned multiple tornado warnings. A flood warning is in effect until 4 p.m. Sunday for a portion of Monroe County along Irondequoit Creek due to the excessive rainfall on Saturday.
The National Weather Service out of Binghamton says it plans to send a survey team to Delaware County in order to determine if a tornado touched down.
The severe weather led to the cancellation or postponement of several events across the state, including the Rochester Pride Festival and Freedom Fest in Orange County.
On top of that severe weather, air quality issues continue this weekend.

Air quality health advisories are in place for the central and western regions. Those are the areas in orange, meaning the air will be unhealthy for sensitive groups.
The rest of the state is in yellow, which indicates moderate air quality.
