MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – The Riley County Police Department arrested a man Friday in connection with an aggravated domestic battery incident and multiple outstanding warrants.
On July 17, officers filed a report of aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, criminal damage to property, intimidation of a witness and interference with a law enforcement officer around 9:40 a.m.
A 24-year-old woman was listed as the victim while a 41-year-old man was listed as the suspect.
As a result, Emilio Soto, 41, of Manhattan, was arrested around 7:36 p.m. in connection with:
Aggravated domestic batteryDomestic batteryCriminal damage to propertyIntimidation of a witnessInterference with a law enforcement officer
He was also arrested in connection with an outstanding Riley County District Court warrant from 2016 for one count of domestic battery. In addition, Soto also had two Riley County District Court warrants from 2020 for:
Six counts of rape; offender is older than 18 and victim is 14 or youngerTwo counts of aggravated domestic battery One count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child
During the investigation, RCPD also learned that Soto is in the U.S. illegally. RCPD said they have been in contact with federal law enforcement partners, but they did not participate in Soto’s arrest.
Soto was issued a total bond of $522,000 and remains in the Riley County Jail.
