A stabbing has occurred in the Kingsbridge section of The Bronx on Monday evening, July 20, close to the location of a Wellness Center where a 27-year-old woman fell unconscious on Sunday, July 19, and later died, as reported.

It’s unknown if the two incidents are related but a stretch of Riverdale Avenue around the address for the Wellness Center at 3190 Riverdale Avenue was cordoned off by police on Monday evening.

Norwood News asked the NYPD for more details of the stabbing and they said a 35-year-old male was stabbed in the chest during a dispute at 5 p.m. They said he was transferred to St. Barnabas Hospital and the investigation is ongoing.
Asked if he could say if the two incidents were related, police said it was unknown at this time. We were advised that the stabbing took place in the vicinity of the Well Center (Norwood News estimates around a block’s distance) but not in front of it, though the center was cordoned off behind police lines, as above.

As reported, the NYPD said Monday they have arrested 55-year-old Luis Rojas Cabrera of New Jersey and that he has been charged with reckless endangerment and unauthorized practice of profession after a 27-year-old woman was found unconscious in the Kingsbridge section of The Bronx on Sunday, July 19, and died.

According to one police source, the woman was a customer / patient of Bereshit Wellness Center in Kingsbridge, located at 3190 Riverdale Avenue, where she was found unconscious. The website for the center is www.drluisrojas.com.

As above, it is located a short distance away from where the stabbing occurred. It’s unknown exactly where on Riverdale Avenue the stabbing occurred but blood stains were seen opposite the park area closest to the intersection with Irvin Avenue.
