MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – The City of Manhattan is gearing up for its annual Furniture Amnesty Day.
13 NEWS checked out the event’s new location Monday. It will be located in the A-2 parking lot at Kansas State University.
The annual event invites the community and K-State students to donate furniture rather than throwing it out at the start of summer.
It takes place Friday, July 24 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at no cost.

“It’s totally free,” Vivienne Leyva, City of Manhattan Public Information Officer said. “You don’t have to pay a dime for it. It keeps furniture out of the landfill, and off the side of the street and gets it in the hands of people who can use it.”
Manhattan residents have until Wednesday at 5 p.m to sign up to have your furniture picked up by a crew.
