His seething resentment towards his famous family has been plain to see for several years now – ever since first distancing himself in 2024, before finally going scorched earth earlier this year.
But all along the way, the one chink in Brooklyn Beckham’s armour seemed to be his love for his baby sister, Harper Beckham. Indeed, having snubbed massive family milestones including anniversaries, birthdays, and even his dad David Beckham’s knighthood last year, it was Harper’s 14th birthday in July 2025 that finally got Brooklyn to put down his weapons – briefly – and wish her a happy birthday from him and wife Nicola Peltz via Instagram stories. The comment may have been tepid, but it spoke volumes.
That, of course, makes Brooklyn’s silence this year on Harper’s 15th birthday all the more deafening. As the youngest Beckham child rang in her big day in Miami last week with her proud parents, David and Victoria, brothers Romeo and Cruz, and their respective girlfriends, Kim Turnbull and Jackie Apostel, Brooklyn’s brutal turnaround was poignant. And according to insiders, it told the family everything they needed to know.

As much as they’d hoped he would finally come to his senses, and take stock of all the love and support they continue to send him from afar – most recently, on Father’s Day and the Beckhams’ anniversary, when they paid tribute to all four of their children – it really seems like they no longer have any place whatsoever in Brooklyn’s life. And critical to that is his unquestionable loyalty, commitment and devotion to his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, 31.
‘The fact that Brooklyn didn’t show up to Harper’s birthday dinner says it all because he could have easily put his issues with his parents aside to make his little sister happy,’ says an insider close to the Beckham clan, who have been putting on a united front over the past few weeks at the World Cup, and at Victoria’s clothing store opening in Miami.
‘But clearly, he’s now just too far gone to even do that. All they can do is pray that he comes to his senses and somehow breaks out of this, and the likelihood of that happening when Nicola is in his life seems incredibly unlikely. It’s no secret that they completely blame Nicola for turning him into this different person – but, of course, they can’t ever say that publicly because all that would do is trigger another war.’

Naturally, Brooklyn, 27, has refused to accept that Nicola played a role in his estrangement – saying instead in his now infamous six-page diatribe in January that his parents had coopted and exploited him his entire life and that, rather than being controlled, he was ‘standing up for [himself] for the first time’.
But, in the same tirade, he accused them of trying to hijack his 2022 wedding and sabotage his relationship with Nicola, claiming Victoria’s scene-stealing antics on the day reduced the bride to tears. And since then, he hasn’t held back in telling the world – and, accordingly, his parents – that he’ll always put Nicola first. He’s also doubled down on his devotion to her family, his in-laws, whom he’s symbolically replaced as his own.
All this, we’re told, has left those inside the Beckham camp coming to just one conclusion: the only way they’ll ever find peace is if Brooklyn and Nicola hit the skids.

‘Brooklyn used to be so loving,’ our source explains. ‘He was always telling people what great parents he had; and then he got together with Nicola and slowly started to change. He’s very loudly insisted this is all his own doing, and that she’s simply supporting him, but the timeline tells a different story. It’s been incredibly painful for them – they feel as though their son has been body snatched.
‘What makes it even worse is that they can go online at any moment and see Brooklyn grinning and posing with Nicola and her family as though he couldn’t be happier. It’s devastating and infuriating all at once. They aren’t letting Brooklyn off the hook, but inevitably they’re convinced Nicola is in the background fanning the flames and making the situation worse. So they can’t see any scenario where he wakes up to what happened while he’s still with her.

‘People in the Beckhams’ world are all in agreement that the only feasible way they could see him actually coming back to the family fold is if things don’t work out with Nicola in the long term.’
Most recently, Brooklyn was pictured cosying up to Nicola’s brood at her brother Will’s wedding to the late Quincy Jones’ daughter, Kenya Kinski-Jones, last month. Taking to Instagram, Nicola also posted joyful photos of the day, referring to her new in-law Kenya in her caption as her ‘dream sister’. This, of course, will have been a brutal pill to swallow for Harper – who always seemed to idolise Nicola while they were all on better terms, and regularly posed for pictures with her oldest brother and sister-in-law.

Meanwhile, Harper’s pain over her brother’s estrangement has been under even more scrutiny over the past few weeks. A few weeks before he snubbed her birthday, the teenager was pictured taking a solo trip to his and Nicola’s Beverly Hills mansion. The couple weren’t home, but Harper was pictured by waiting photographers delivering a letter to the property.
In response, a spokesperson for Brooklyn and Nicola voiced the couple’s outrage over the alleged PR stunt, claiming the move had been ‘choreographed for the cameras’ and accusing the Beckhams of ‘using Harper as a pawn’. But insiders close to David and Victoria insisted she acted independently and was simply attempting to make contact with her much-missed brother.

Now, sadly, it seems the family have no choice but to wait in uncertainty over what the future may hold. In the meantime, they’ll continue to follow their current strategy of including him in tributes to the family, while also keeping calm and carrying on as a tight-knit family unit without him. Brooklyn, for his part, is showing no signs of budging – even cashing in on his family’s rift last month in a highly-lucrative promo video for the food delivery firm DoorDash, which saw him joking about watching the World Cup at home this year, adding, ‘It’s a long story.’
This – plus his lovesick tributes to Nicola and her family and his stonewalled silence to his own – really suggests he’s showing no signs of budging. For now, much to the Beckhams’ continued disappointment, any notion of divorce is not looking likely.
