As a former mayor of Brooklyn Park, I know firsthand that leading a city as diverse, dynamic and growing as ours requires more than good intentions. It requires listening, collaboration, fiscal responsibility and a genuine commitment to serving the entire community. That is why I proudly support Shelle Page for mayor of Brooklyn Park.

Throughout my time serving this city, I believed leadership works best when we focus less on division and more on bringing people together around shared goals. I hear that same approach in Shelle’s vision for Brooklyn Park – a commitment to moving past party lines and personal agendas, supporting residents and businesses, strengthening partnerships and ensuring every voice feels heard and valued.

I especially appreciate her focus on fiscal accountability and transparency. Residents deserve leaders who not only make thoughtful decisions, but who can clearly explain the “why” behind them. Strong stewardship of taxpayer dollars matters deeply because every budget decision impacts real families and the future of Brooklyn Park.

Her commitment to public safety also reflects the balanced leadership Brooklyn Park needs. Supporting our first responders while recognizing that true safety means every resident in every neighborhood feels secure and respected.

I also value her emphasis on “homes, not just housing.” Brooklyn Park’s strength has always been its people – families putting down roots, businesses investing in our future and residents from many backgrounds building community together. Growth matters, but thoughtful growth matters even more.

Most importantly, Shelle Page understands that leadership starts with listening. Brooklyn Park succeeds when residents feel included, respected and part of the conversation.

I believe Shelle Page has the experience, heart and collaborative spirit to help lead Brooklyn Park forward, and I encourage residents to support her candidacy for Mayor.
