A couple of weeks after Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding, which was held in New York City, Mayor Zohran Mamdani was asked about his invitation.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Mamdani revealed that he wasn’t invited, but he is “fine” with that. He did, however, concede that city services “acquitted themselves very well.”

It doesn’t sound like he has any hard feelings, luckily. As the mayor of New York City, he might not have even been able to make it, given his responsibilities.

Was NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding?John Jones-Imagn Images

No, Mamdani was not one of the reported thousand at Swift and Kelce’s wedding. He revealed that himself in the Rolling Stone interview.

While he did not attend, Mamdani was likely kept in the loop about the logistics of the event. Swift and Kelce paid $160,000 for police security at the Garden.

Mamdani has been the mayor since his term began in January 2026. Before his term, he served as a member of the New York State Assembly for four years for the 36th district, representing Astoria, Queens.

There were about a thousand people at the wedding. The attendees ranged from Kelce’s teammates like Patrick Mahomes to fellow music icons like Swift, such as Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks.

McCartney and Nicks also performed at the wedding. The former made history by performing The Beatles’ “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” which a member of the Fab Four hadn’t played live in over 60 years.

Swift and Kelce tied the knot nearly a full year after announcing their engagement on social media in August 2025. They made the announcement in a joint post before the NFL season began. At the time of their engagement, it had been nearly two years since they went public with their relationship.
