NEW YORK (PIX11) — Poly Prep in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, is home to a robotics team unlike most others — an unlikely group of debate club, art, and theatre kids recruited by Coach Kristin Guynn, a former finance executive with an engineering background.
Since launching during the pandemic, the team, “Polymorphism,” has made it to the NYC championships every year, earned a national ranking, and sent three straight team captains — all women, none of whom had touched robotics before joining — to Brown University.
