The funding effort was led by Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Assemblymember J. Gary Pretlow, chair of the Assembly Ways & Means Committee. It also named Sen. Shelley Mayer, Assemblymember Amy Paulin and Assemblymember Chris Burdick among those who worked to secure the funding, along with other members of the state delegation.
“ArtsWestchester has long been a cornerstone of Westchester County’s cultural and economic vitality, enriching our communities, supporting artists, and strengthening our local economy,” Stewart-Cousins said. “As Majority Leader, I was committed to working with Governor Hochul, Speaker Heastie, and my colleagues in the Westchester delegation to secure this historic $5 million investment, because we know the arts are essential to creating vibrant, connected, and thriving communities.”
