BOROUGHWIDE — AUTHORITIES ARE LOOKING FOR a man suspected of burglarizing 11 businesses across six police precincts in neighborhoods including Carroll Gardens, Prospect Heights, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights, Bushwick and North Williamsburg over the past three months. Police believe one unidentified man entered the commercial establishments primarily through basement-level doors between Friday, May 8, and Friday, July 17. Once inside, the man allegedly accessed offices and safes, removing cash and other property before fleeing.
Police shared a surveillance photo taken on July 8, when around 4:15 a.m., the suspect entered a bar in Prospect Heights at 80 Sixth Ave. through a basement door, forcibly entered an office, and removed roughly $4,000 before fleeing northbound on Bergen Street by foot.
Police also shared a photo taken on May 8 around 4 a.m., when the suspect entered a coffee shop at 1114 Bedford Ave. in Bed-Stuy through a basement door, forcibly entered an office, and removed roughly $1,000 before fleeing.
