The Brooklyn Avenue School Parent Teacher Association hosted its third annual Family Fun Day at Citi Field.

About 150 students from Brooklyn Avenue and their families watched the New York Mets play the Philadelphia Phillies, enjoying an afternoon filled with entertainment and family bonding.

“We are incredibly thankful to the Brooklyn Avenue School PTA for organizing this wonderful tradition and to the New York Mets for their generosity and continued partnership,” Unal Karakas, superintendent of schools, said. “Opportunities like Family Fun Day help strengthen the connections between our schools, our families and our community.”

The Valley Stream 24 School District is grateful for the Mets kind donation, which made the outing possible for the students and their families for the third year in a row.

While the Mets lost the game, Brooklyn Avenue attendees had an exciting day spending time with family members and classmates.
