Truck traffic is causing delays on the Goethals Bridge and the Staten Island Expressway Brooklyn-bound on the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025.(511NY)
Update: Traffic on the Goethals Bridge returned to normal flow around 7:30 a.m., according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Delays were reported on the Goethals Bridge to Staten Island early in the Wednesday morning rush hour.
An alert from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey attributed the delay to “heavy truck congestion” on the Staten Island Expressway, Brooklyn bound, near the span.
Traffic was snarled near the Forest Avenue/Gulf Avenue exit, according to the Port Authority.
