EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn (PIX11) — An affordable housing lottery is now open for a brand new development in East New York with rent starting at $830.

Amenities include a gym, a laundry room, a computer room, and a recreation room.

The building is part of the Vital Brooklyn initiative, a project that will create over 2,400 residential units at the site of the former Brooklyn Developmental Center at 888 Fountain Avenue.

The following units are available at 40 percent of the area median income:

Studio

Household size: 1 to 2 people

Annual household income: $32,263 to $54,280

One bedroom

Household size: 1 to 2 people

Annual household income: $40,355 to $54,280

Two bedroom

Household size: 2 to 4 people

Annual household income: $48,412 to $67,840

Three bedroom

Household size: 3 to 6 people

Annual household income: $55,955 to $78,720

The lottery will take place at 10 a.m. on Oct. 9.
