A whole new principal company will go way down under the ground in the Tony-winning Best Musical Hadestown, beginning September 1 at Broadway’s Walter Kerr Theatre.

The new company will be led by Jasmin Savoy Brown (Yellowjackets, Scream, The Leftovers) as Eurydice, two-time Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Catch Me if You Can) as Hermes, Tony nominee Amber Iman (Lempicka, Black Swan) as Persephone, pop-rock musician and songwriter Kayko in his Broadway debut as Orpheus, and Disney XD actor Geno Segers (Pair of Kings, Australia’s The Lion King) in his Broadway debut as Hades.

These artists will join Kelly Belarmino, KC Dela Cruz, and Khori Michelle Petinaud as the Fates, with the chorus of Workers played by Emily Afton, Malcolm Armwood, Jeffrey Cornelius, Sydney Parra, and Alex Puette. Swings are Brandon Cameron, Tara Jackson, Max Kumangai, and Alex Lugo.

The Broadway cast is currently led by Gary Dourdan as Hades, Tony
winner J. Harrison Ghee as Hermes, John-Michael Lyles as Orpheus, Gaby
Moreno as Persephone, and Jordan Tyson as Eurydice.

Hadestown is now in its eighth year on Broadway and in its third year in the West End (returning to London, five years after its 2018 engagement at the National Theatre). The record-breaking North American tour completed its three-year run in 2024, and productions have played to acclaim across the globe in South Korea, Sydney, Melbourne, and Amsterdam. The film version of Hadestown is currently playing in cinemas now.

Singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell’s folk- and jazz-infused musical
layers the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice with that of Hades and
Persephone, intertwining the actions—and consequences—of gods and
mortals. Hadestown originally began as a theatrical concert performed by Mitchell.

The creative team features Tony-winning set designer Rachel Hauck,
Tony-nominated costume designer Michael Krass, Tony-winning lighting
designer Bradley King, Tony-winning sound designers Nevin Steinberg and
Jessica Paz, choreographer David Neumann, and dramaturg Ken Cerniglia.
Musical supervision and vocal arrangements are by Liam Robinson, with
arrangements and orchestrations by Tony winners Michael Chorney and Todd
Sickafoose.

The show, featuring a book and score by Mitchell, won eight 2019 Tony
Awards: Best Director of a Musical (Rachel Chavkin), Best Featured
Actor in a Musical (André De Shields), Best Lighting Design of a Musical
(Bradley King), Best Scenic Design of a Musical (Rachel Hauck), Best
Sound Design of a Musical (Jessica Paz and Nevin Steinberg), Best
Orchestrations (Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose), Best Original
Score (Mitchell), and Best Musical.
