Need poof that underscoresThe FADER’s July 2026 cover star — is a superstar? Hundreds of her fans (U-TOOs) lined up bright and early to ensure a spot at her FADER cover release party at Elsewhere, snaking around the industrial Brooklyn venue hours before doors opened.

When the July 9 party commenced, you would never know that its attendees had been on their feet for the better part of a day: the mood at the Elsewhere rooftop ranged between giddy and feverish as fans danced the night away.

The night was long and bumping with sets by heartgaze, petal supply, and then a thrilling b4b with umru, milkfish (underscores’ DJ alias), Emile Fortune, and Tiam, before underscores took the decks for her solo set — which was as danceable as it was hilarious. She mixed her own hits like “bodyfeeling” with songs of every genre. There was Korean rap (“G Ma” by Keith Ape), American rap (Lil Uzi Vert, slayr, xaviersobased), American pop (Charli xcx, Gwen Stefani), Latin music (Shakira, Prince Royce, B0YG1RL), and everything in between. My favorite moment was when she ended the whole delirious set by mixing two of my favorite, insanely different songs ever: Camila Cabello’s “B.O.A.T” and oklou’s “choke enough.”
