A 74-year-old Minnesota man was killed in a bicycle crash Tuesday afternoon in Riley County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just after 2 p.m. on K-177 about three miles south of Manhattan.

Investigators said the man, of Minnetrista, Minnesota, was riding his bicycle northbound on the right shoulder of the highway when he crossed into the path of a northbound 2022 Subaru SUV.

The SUV, driven by a 42-year-old female of Kansas City, Missouri, struck the bicycle.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not injured and was wearing a seat belt, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The crash remains under investigation.
