Peanut and Brooklyn are not just a bonded pair—they are a tiny team with an extraordinary connection. Brooklyn is blind and deaf, so she depends on Peanut to help her navigate unfamiliar places and feel secure. Peanut takes that responsibility seriously, staying close to her sister and making sure Brooklyn knows she is never alone. Together, they have built their own way of moving through the world, and they are looking for a family willing to join their team.
Once these two decide someone is trustworthy, the protective routine quickly gives way to maximum Frenchie affection. Peanut and Brooklyn become an inseparable pair of snuggly lap dogs who love attention, companionship, and being near their people. Brooklyn remains joyful and eager to meet new friends despite her challenges, while Peanut brings the confidence, loyalty, and sisterly supervision.
The girls have already made tremendous progress since arriving at the SPCA. They had never walked on leashes before, but they are now learning to use a split lead so Brooklyn can always feel Peanut beside her. Their ideal home will have a fenced yard, limited stairs, children age eight or older, and no other dogs. Experience with blind or deaf dogs would be helpful, but the SPCA team can provide guidance and training tips to help set everyone up for success.
Adopting Peanut and Brooklyn means opening a home to two dogs, but it also means receiving twice the personality, twice the cuddles, and one unforgettable lesson in loyalty. They have already chosen each other. Now they need someone to choose them both.
We chatted a bit more about my new Forester and how Subaru seems to be leading the pack among manufacturers in holding the line on EVs — notably due to its affordability and safety! Subaru may be onto something, especially with the new Uncharted, Trailseeker, and the soon-to-come Getaway!
As for the SPCA — we got the scoop on Paws at the Mall. Spoiler: they will open next week! We celebrated the adoption of Kylo Jace after 7 long years. And went over a list of the most affectionate dogs! Plus, the Puppy Plunge preps are well underway!

Want to make an appointment with the SPCA of Anne Arundel County to meet and adopt a dog, cat, or small animal? Animal viewing at the main shelter is available Tuesday – Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm.
