Dear Editor,
This November, New Yorkers have an opportunity to elect a State Comptroller who brings decades of private-sector financial and business experience to one of the state’s most important fiscal oversight positions.
The North Salem Republican Town Committee proudly endorses Joseph Hernandez for New York State Comptroller.
The Comptroller serves as New York’s chief fiscal watchdog, responsible for auditing state agencies, protecting one of the nation’s largest public pension funds, reviewing government contracts, and helping ensure taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly. At a time when New Yorkers continue to face high taxes, and growing concerns about state government accountability, this office requires independent leadership, sound financial judgment, and an unwavering commitment to transparency.
Joseph Hernandez offers a different perspective. As an entrepreneur, investor and business leader, he has spent his career building companies, creating jobs, managing investments, and making difficult financial decisions. Having come to the United States as a Cuban refugee and as the son of a political prisoner, he understands firsthand the value of freedom, opportunity and accountable government.
His campaign has emphasized protecting New York’s public pension fund, conducting rigorous audits of state agencies, increasing transparency, rooting out waste and fraud, and ensuring that financial decisions are made in the best interests of taxpayers rather than for political purposes.
New Yorkers deserve a Comptroller who will safeguard public funds, provide independent oversight, and hold state government accountable to the taxpayers it serves. We believe Joseph Hernandez has the experience, integrity and financial expertise to fulfill that responsibility, and we are proud to endorse him for New York State Comptroller.
