NEW YORK (PIX11) — New York Congresswoman Yvette Clarke joins PIX11 to discuss the aftermath of the Supreme Court upholding President Trump’s decision to end temporary protected status for hundreds of thousands of Haitian immigrants, including tens of thousands in the New York City area.
The Congresswoman is calling the decision a “humanitarian” and “moral” betrayal, saying it’s unsafe for Haitian immigrants to return to Haiti in its current state, with much of the country enduring widespread gang violence.
Under threat of ICE surges in New York City from the Trump administration, Congresswoman Clarke says the administration should “tread very lightly in the city of New York.”
